True Composite Surface Treatments That Outperform Conventional Spray Methods
Plasmadize is an enhanced thermal spray composite coating made up of a matrix of high-tech materials, including metals, ceramics, polymers and dry lubricants. This surface treatment creates a structurally stable, non-porous and moisture-proof surface, providing exceptional lubricity, wear resistance and mold release compared to conventional spray methods.
Resistance in salt spray testing ranges from 300 to 4,000 hours, depending on the polymer and substrate. The appropriate selection of infused polymer or another surface polymer provides a highly lubricious non-stick surface with a coefficient of friction (COF) as low as 0.13 on an 8 RMS surface.
You can use Plasmadize to restore or optimize older parts, or apply it cost-effectively to very large surfaces or parts. And, many Plasmadize coatings comply with USDA and FDA codes. Ideal applications include crimping jaws, conveyors, tension rolls, cylinder heads, extruders and feeder bowls.
Plasmadize Technical Advantages
Plasmadize provides superior properties compared to common coatings. It features:
- Operating temperatures: -200°F (129°C) to 1,300°F (704°C)
- Thicknesses from 0.002 to 0.010 inch
- Hardnesses beyond the Rc scale
- EWR as low as 0.1 mg per 1,000 cycles
- Resistance to acids, alkalis, chlorides, most organic solvents, sulfites, thiosulfates and pulp bleaching chemicals

Releases adhesive tapes and hot melt glue.

Excellent release and durability with a textured surface that minimizes point contact in applications where film release is required. Outstanding thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. USDA and FDA compliant.
Plasmadize 3029-04
Releases adhesive tapes and hot melt glue. It also contains smoother profiles for use where films or package surfaces are subject to marring.

Extreme wear resistance and excellent release for applications that allow open tolerances. USDA and FDA compliant.
Plasmadize 3129-10
All-purpose surface treatment with abrasion, wear and corrosion resistance. Lowers the friction of sliding objects. USDA and FDA compliant.
Plasmadize EXC
The ultimate in wear resistance and low COF for severe applications. Operates at +1,000°F, except when applied to aluminum. USDA and FDA compliant.
Plasmadize FT-4
USDA and FDA compliant with good wear and release properties. Ideal for use in food and pharmaceutical processing and packaging applications.
