General Magnaplate’s Tufram® Now Available Through Poeton Polska

The aerospace industry in Poland has seen substantial growth in recent years. To help manufacturers in this and other thriving industries such as food processing and packaging better protect their components, General Magnaplate has announced its engineered coatings will be available in Poland exclusively through Poeton Polska — a division of U.K.-based licensee, Poeton Industries.

General Magnaplate has had a successful relationship with Poeton Industries for over 30 years, and both companies share the same philosophies. Like General Magnaplate, Poeton Industries — which traces its beginnings to 1898 — is a family business with a long history of providing protective surface treatments to a broad range of industries including commercial airframe and aerospace. Through the years, both companies have earned a reputation for innovation, quality and customer service on the global level.

"General Magnaplate has a long tradition of innovation and expertise in surface enhancement coatings for a wide range of industries. We’re proud of our shared commitment to the aerospace industry where we see a huge benefit now, and we look forward to providing our customers with even more solutions for their surface protection challenges," said Candi Aversenti, CEO of General Magnaplate. “Poland has become one of the most successful economies in Europe. High growth opportunities coupled with a quality labor force and open borders for trade will not slow this trend.”

Tufram® is the first series of General Magnaplate coatings that will be offered through Poeton Polska. Engineered to protect aluminium against corrosion and wear, this modified hard anodizing process infused with proprietary polymers can provide surface hardness between Rc 40 and Rc 65. Tufram resists corrosion, acids, alkaline chemicals and outgassing to make it well-suited for harsh environmental conditions across a variety of industries. Additional features include a wide operating temperature range from -218 to 427°C and USDA and FDA compliance. Expect more General Magnaplate surface enhancement coating families to follow.

The availability of Tufram through Nadcap-accredited Poeton Polska is an important step in General Magnaplate’s effort to expand its product line in eastern Europe in order to serve aerospace as well as automotive, food processing, packaging and any other industry where metal components need protection.
